The above test is for chemical manufacturers to determine solubility of Manganese & Iron in mild Sulphuric acid for determination of efficiency in Industrial production of salts, chemicals & compounds and economic evaluation of raw material used.
Procedure : 10 grams specimen sample is digested at 90 C for 1½ hrs. in 10 grams of H2So4 diluted in distilled water. Iron & Manganese titrated with KMn04. For titrating Mn; Iron is precipitated by adding ZnO and solution filtered before titration.
